About the dying process:
Hand-dyed in Richmond by Jess Fauscette of Polly’s Press, these 100% cotton t-shirts feature botanical dyes derived from madder root (pink) and homegrown marigolds (yellow). The madder-dyed shirts are produced through immersion dyeing, utilizing a blend of fresh and dried plant materials. The marigold-dyed shirts are created using an eco-printing technique, which utilizes various plants, leaves, and flowers to generate unique patterns. This process involves steaming the bundled plant materials within fabric to release the natural dyes and form a contact print.
