The Chojugiga scrolls are among the oldest surviving works of Japanese art - twelfth-century ink drawings of rabbits, frogs, and monkeys doing very human things. Wrestling. Archery. Chasing each other through the grass. Kousaido put that same playful energy into this incense collection, each scent matched to a scene from the scroll. Handmade in Kyoto, sandalwood base, minimal smoke. The packaging is doing a lot, but the incense holds up. 3 beautiful scents available in the collection, each sold separately.
Each box contains approximately 90 sticks. Burns 15–17 minutes per stick.
Sumo - Aqua and fruity pear. Light, clean, a little unexpected. Good for people who think they don't like incense.
Bow & Arrow - Chamomile, lavender, and amber over an oriental herb base. The warm one. The one that makes a room feel like somewhere you'd want to stay.
Catch - Opoponax, clove, and musk. Deep, spiced, slightly mysterious. The rabbit in this scene is running from something good.
