About the Materials:
Denim sourced from Vidalia Mills. The last American denim mill weaving selvedge fabrics. Last week they just announced they were closing their doors for the last time.This fabric was woven on X1 draper looms that were acquired from Cone Mills' White Oak facility in Greensboro NC.
The White Oak mill opened in 1891 and closed in 2017.Denim is a living fabric that fades with time and moves with wear becoming more unique and bonded to its owner over time.
About Shockoe Atelier:
Anthony and his father started Shockoe Atelier, then Shockoe Denim, because they wanted to make the best jeans in the world. When they started in 2012 there were about a dozen brands that made their jeans in their own workshops in the US, now there are less than 5. They're a family business and each member of the production team has been with them for at least 5 years. They love what they do and back it with free repairs.
